4-H Day Camp at Canyon Glen.

It was a glorious day to be in Provo canyon this morning. It was beautiful and refreshing. The camp started at 9 a.m. The theme was "Cowboys & Indians". We were divided in groups with war paint on our cheeks. We were the white group. There were six classes that changed every 20 minutes with a lunch break between the 4th and 5th class.

Our first class was archery. It was mainly about safety.
The kids had some hands on experience and
shot four or more arrows.
Many of them hitting the target.

Next was a teepee making class.
Little sticks and a hot glue gun were needed for this project.

The third class we made "Cow Pies".
Each of us put 1/2 c. powdered sugar, 2 tsp. cocoa, 1 T. butter, 1 T. cream cheese
and 1/4 tsp. vanilla into a plastic baggie.
We worked it with our fingers until it was a rich creamy chocolate brown.
Squished it to a corner of the baggie. Cut a little
hole in that corner. Squished it into our mouths.
It was a yummy camping treat.

Beaded necklaces and bracelets were then made.

The fifth class was tie dye bandannas.

Outdoor games were played for the last group activity.

There were 6 different groups and everyone including me
had fun at summer camp.

I'm glad I went.
